An heirloom classic from 1856, Duchesse de Nemours is beloved for its creamy white, fully double blooms with a soft hint of yellow glowing from the center. Exceptionally fragrant and reliable, it features strong stems and lush, dark foliage that turns golden in fall. Blooming in spring, this timeless beauty is a favorite for both gardens and cut flower arrangements—and it’s easy to see why.
Duchess is both beautiful and practical—deer and rabbit resistant, and an early bloomer ideal for warm climates. All our peony roots are premium 5/8 eye divisions—meaning each root has 5 to 8 growth buds ready to burst into life. These jumbo-sized roots are typically reserved for professional flower farmers, but now home gardeners can enjoy the same head start. Larger roots = more stems, faster growth, and earlier blooms!
